Ken Cole appointed by Governor Beebe

SAU Head Athletic Trainer Ken Cole

Southern Arkansas Head Athletic Trainer Ken Cole has been appointed by Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe to the state Board of Athletic Training for a three-year term expiring January 14, 2014.

The Arkansas State Board of Athletic Training is a licensing and regulatory organization created to issue license for athletic training and to uphold the standards prescribed by statute to protect the health of the public.

Appointed by the Governor, the Board is composed of five members for terms of three years. Four members are athletic trainers licensed to engage in athletic training in the state of Arkansas. One member is a consumer who is not actively engaged in or retired from the practice of athletic training, medicine, physical therapy, or employment by an athletic department of an accredited educational institution.

Cole has served as a head athletic trainer for 29 years and is in his 23rd year at Southern Arkansas. He was inducted into the Arkansas Athletic Trainers’ Association (AATA) hall of fame in 2005, and this past March was named the NCAA Division II national athletic trainer of the year by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA).
