SAU Sports Hall of Fame

The 20th class of the Southern Arkansas University Sports Hall of Fame was officially inducted on Friday, October 7, 2023, during a special ceremony inside the Grand Hall of the Donald W. Reynolds Campus and Community Center. Eight former student-athletes of which one also coached at the University took center stage during halftime of the Muleriders’ Homecoming game the following day.

Five former student-athletes represented the Hall’s Modern Era including three whose careers began within the past fifteen years. All-American softball player Maddie Dow Ray, professional baseball standout Aharon Eggleston, record-setting volleyball player Maggie Ross Glover, highly-decorated baseball player Trevor Rucker, and program-changing quarterback Tyler Sykora were among the inductees whose careers took place within the past 30 years. All-American Track & Field standout Jerry Chandler and two-sport All-AIC star Charles Jones represented the Golden Era, while former baseball standout and Natural State coaching great Allen Gum entered the Hall as both a coach and Golden Era member.
