SAU football’s John Miller named CoSIDA Academic All-America® Second-Team

Miller Academic All-AmericaSouthern Arkansas football senior offensive lineman John Miller has been named to the 2015 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America® Second-Team.

Miller, who recently earned his second Academic All-District™ selection, becomes the first football player at SAU to earn Academic All-America® honors while also being the 11th different honoree all-time at SAU.

A native of De Queen, Ark., Miller was a four-year starter on the offensive line for the Muleriders. He graduated in December 2015 with a 3.80 cumulative G.P.A. in Engineering-Physics.

On the field, Miller anchored an offensive line that has been the wall of defense for one of the most prolific offenses in Division II over the last four years. A starter in 37 career games, Miller is a two-time All-GAC offensive lineman and was also named as SAU’s Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year for 2014-15.

In 2015, Miller was also named as a nominee for the 2015 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® as well as being a semi-finalist for the National Football Foundation’s (NFF) William Campbell Trophy.
